We support standard courses for students of the
Faculty of Bioengineering and
Bioinformatics on basic techniques of cell culture, as well as individual
studies and series of experiments approved by tutors. Selected students can
also work under our tutorship.
Researchers are invited to use our facilities
to carry out experiments on cell cultures (see contacts). We can provide and/or maintain cell lines, a
working area in our sterile operating room, help in organization of culture facilities
in user’s laboratory, or take a part in a research project of our client on a
basis of mutual agreement. Besides standard equipment for cell culture (like CO2-incubator and safety
cabinet), the user can find within our Laboratory Building Á
fluorescent and confocal lazer scanning microscopes equipped with color camera
of high resolution, flow cytofluorimeter/sorter, magnetic resonance tomograph,
and other unique and expensive devices available for customers as a part of
service or on a basis of scientific collaboration.
All users of our sterile operating room should
discuss their plans with Dr.Kuimov and every Monday point out in a logbook when
they work in safety cabinets during a week and what is placed within our
incubators. We are not licensed to work with any human viruses or other
microorganisms dangerous for personnel. Any bacteria and fungi are strongly
prohibited. Every dish, flask or plate with signs of bacterial contamination is
to be immediately exterminated by owner or personnel. Cryobiological storage is
available every Wednesday at 4PM. Customers are also advised to store backups
of their preparations in Cell Banks.
